The Civils and Remediation team were invited by Network Space and their engineer WYG to competently tender the site enabling works. This consisted of significant off site and on site statutory undertakers provision, site wide remediation and advanced mine working and mine cap treatment on a design and build basis. The Civils and Remediation team opted to form an alliance with Utility Engineering Solution on the statutory undertakers work and M&J Drilling, mine working specialists, for the mine workings and mine shaft treatments. The tender was submitted with this combined approach specifically noting, the Stats works and Mine workings would be predominantly stand alone works.
THE £850K PROJECT WAS MADE UP OF £200K OF STATS WORK, £250K OF MINE WORKINGS TREATMENT AND £400K OF REMEDIATION, EARTHWORKS, DRAINAGE AND ACCESS ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE.
The client was delighted with the approach, the efficient delivery and the savings provided.
The project was delivered on time and to budget including additional works instructed, with alternative options provided at cost savings on the stats and validation of the works designs in accordance with the employers requirements. There were no third party, Health, Safety and Environmental or QA compliance issues via this tri-partite approach.
